What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a health care profession, which assists people to restore, maintain and maximize their strength, function, movement, and overall wellbeing. Physiotherapy includes rehabilitation, as well as prevention of injury, and promotion of health and fitness. Physiotherapy may include a variety of therapeutic tools including: manual therapy, exercise therapy, acupuncture, electrotherapeutic agents, massage and education.
Do I need a doctor’s referral for physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a direct access health care service, therefore, a doctor’s referral is not required to access care. Some insurance providers may require a doctors referral before providing coverage. Contact your insurance provider for details regarding what is required by your plan.
Do you treat auto and work injuries?
We are an accredited ICBC and Work Safe BC injury primary care facility.
As of December 22, 2017, Pro Physioworks' contract with WSBC has expired and we have chosen to not renew this contract.
We are able to assess and treat patients privately (with a fee for service). Worker should contact WSBC regarding possible reimbursement.
Do you bill directly to Private Insurance (e.g. Blue Cross, Great West Life, Standard Life)?
No. Clients using private insurance to cover the cost of treatments will pay for the treatment in full at the time of the appointment. Receipts will be issued so that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
Is there a charge for missed appointments?
We require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Missed or cancelled appointments with less than 12 hours notice may be charged the full private service fee.
